Quick answer

Choose a difficulty or challenge card to test one encounter constraint, not to chase a permanent “best” reward route. The official Steam description supports adapting to escalating encounters and using class abilities, but it does not publish current difficulty modifiers or challenge-card values. Read the client’s exact labels before relying on a comparison.

Run a controlled challenge

  1. Record the current mode, difficulty and card text.
  2. Decide what the card is meant to test: positioning, resource pressure, timing or team composition.
  3. Keep the classes and mission stable for the first attempt.
  4. Record the first failure point and whether it repeated.
  5. Change one variable on the next attempt.

If the team cannot cover the pressure, open Co-op Roles. If the issue is a mode-specific survival position, continue to Horde Mode.

Keep challenge and build separate

A card can change the context in which a class works; that does not prove the class is stronger in every mission. Use Classes and Specialist for role choice and Specialist Build Basics for one controlled setup change.

Evidence boundary

The official store page does not establish the full difficulty list, card catalogue, modifier values, rewards or unlock requirements. Those facts need current-client evidence and a dated record because mode systems can change with patches.

Continue with weapons and loadouts

After choosing the challenge you want to test, use Weapons and Loadouts to keep the equipment change measurable.
