Quick answer

Use one tactical ability to create a visible advantage, then plan the follow-up before spending another action. The official Steam description confirms tactical abilities, operative archetypes, loadouts, skill growth and combat synergies. It does not provide a universal ability rotation or exact values, so the useful first answer is a decision sequence rather than a copied ranking.

Plan the turn

Ask these questions before committing:

  1. What objective must the squad solve now?
  2. Which target, position or teammate is the first constraint?
  3. Which displayed ability changes that constraint?
  4. Who benefits if the ability succeeds?
  5. What is the safest follow-up if the result is weaker than expected?

Keep the mission and ability text in your notes. If the test works, repeat it once before changing a second variable. If it fails, record the failure point rather than declaring the whole operative unusable.

Read Squad Planning when the problem is composition. Read Combat Synergies when one ability is valuable because another operative can convert its result. Read Classes and Archetypes when the question is about role identity.

The official listing supports the existence of a connected squad system. It does not state that one ability is always best across every mission, difficulty or campaign choice.

Evidence boundary

Exact damage, range, cooldown, status effect, unlock requirement and skill-growth values require current-client evidence. Do not use a preview or one community build as the default. A later patch may change the comparison without changing the broad tactical principle.
