Quick answer

Keep only the items needed for the next named task in your carried inventory, and move the rest to a storage point the current client confirms as safe. Before a trip, check the available space, required tool and return path. The official Steam page supports gathering and crafting, but it does not document current slot counts or storage rules.

Use a task-sized inventory

  1. Choose one destination or craft goal.
  2. List the resource, tool and repair item that goal needs.
  3. Leave space for the first useful resource you find.
  4. Store duplicates or long-term materials before leaving.
  5. If the inventory fills, return and record what you chose to keep.

This makes the next decision legible. A full inventory is not automatically a reason to discard a rare-looking object; first identify whether the current build gives it a storage or crafting use.

Connect inventory to crafting

Use Crafting and Resources when a blueprint is the blocker. Use Oxygen and Temperature when the trip itself is risky. If an item cannot be used because a tool or system is damaged, continue to Tools and Repair.

Evidence boundary

The current public source does not establish slot capacity, container capacity, item stack behavior, storage persistence or a complete item priority list. Those are current-client facts and may change during Early Access. Do not copy an old inventory table without matching build and UI evidence.
