Quick answer

Use imports to answer a named supply problem in a larger operation, not as an automatic upgrade for a small business. The official store describes importing products from the harbour and distributing them through a network of warehouses. Map the item’s entry point, storage, destination and movement owner in the current client before committing to a wider network.

Build a supply map

For one item, record four points:

| Point | Question | | --- | --- | | Entry | Where does the item enter the operation? | | Storage | Where should it be held before use? | | Destination | Which business or process needs it? | | Movement | Which current role or route moves it? |

This map keeps an import question separate from a warehouse or purchasing question. If the item never enters, inspect the acquisition step. If it enters but does not arrive, use Warehouse Delivery. If the player is still doing the same purchasing task repeatedly, compare Purchasing Agent.

Use a small first route

  1. Choose one product with a visible business need.
  2. Read the current harbour, purchase or import prompt and record the displayed conditions.
  3. Confirm the target storage and business route.
  4. Test one delivery cycle before adding another item or location.
  5. Compare stock availability, player travel and cash exposure in the same save.

The objective is not to reproduce a generic import spreadsheet. It is to find out whether the network solves the bottleneck that justified it.

What needs a current build record

Import prices, item lists, quantities, delivery times, warehouse capacities and investment returns are all table-shaped facts. Keep them tied to the current full-release build, date, save context and source screen. A community post or an old early-access guide can reveal a useful query but cannot establish a current universal value by itself.

Frequently asked questions

Where do imports fit? The official store places imports from the harbour inside the larger business and warehouse network.

Should a new player start with imports? Start with the First Business Guide unless a real supply bottleneck makes the network the next decision.

Why is imported stock missing from a business? Trace entry, storage, destination and movement one step at a time. Do not assume that an import event completes the delivery route.
