Quick answer
Start a factory by reading the current client’s input, output and operating requirements, then testing one production path with a named goal. Big Ambitions officially supports building infrastructure and growing larger companies, but a generic page cannot safely provide a current recipe table, production speed, staffing ratio or capacity without a dated in-client record.
Make the production question concrete
Before building, write down:
- what output the business needs;
- which input should enter the factory;
- where the input is stored;
- where the output should go;
- which cash, staff and infrastructure decision is blocking the test.
This prevents a factory from becoming an expensive answer to an undefined problem. Use Imports and Supply when the input must cross a wider network and Warehouse Delivery when the movement step is the issue.
A one-path setup test
- Read the current production or construction screen and record its requirements, build and date.
- Confirm the first input exists or has a documented acquisition route.
- Confirm the output destination and storage path.
- Add only the staff or infrastructure required by the current prompt.
- Run one production observation and record where the process stops.
- Change one dependency before repeating the test.
The result should tell you whether the constraint is input, equipment, staff, storage, delivery or cash. It should not be used to claim that one factory plan is optimal for every save.
Keep recipe facts versioned
Recipes, quantities, production times, employee requirements, machine capacity and profit margins can change with patches and save context. A current table needs a source screen or reproducible current-build evidence. Until that record exists, publish the workflow and the verification boundary rather than filling the page with copied values.
Frequently asked questions
Does Big Ambitions support factories? The official product description supports infrastructure and larger-company operations. The current client determines the exact production interface and requirements.
Why is my factory not running? Trace input, current prompt, staff, storage, output destination and cash in that order, keeping one change per test.
What should I read next? Use Employees and Logistics when staff or movement is the bottleneck, or Pricing and Demand when the output needs a controlled business comparison.
