Quick answer
Use the Global Lobby Browser to find a public BOMBANANA! game, or use a room code for a private/friend session. The current launch announcement explicitly adds both server browsing and room codes. BOMBANANA! is built for exactly three players, so make sure the full team can join and agree on roles before starting the bomb.
If a friend cannot join, check the route you used, the code, the displayed lobby state and whether every player is running the current game version. Keep a repeatable join failure separate from a puzzle or voice-chat problem.
Create or join a session
Public lobby
- Open the current multiplayer/lobby screen.
- Choose the public browser route.
- Select a lobby that has room for the three-player team.
- Confirm roles and communication before launching a level.
Room code
- Have the host create the private room and share the current code exactly.
- Have each friend choose the join-by-code route.
- Check the code character by character before retrying.
- Wait for all three players to appear in the lobby.
- Use How to Play and Communication to set the callout protocol before starting.
The official launch material supports the product surface, not a universal networking workaround. Follow the labels and state the current client shows.
Prepare the three-player team
Before pressing start:
- confirm there are three players, not a missing role;
- decide who will begin as Blind, Deaf and Mute;
- agree on one left/right reference and the WAIT / REPEAT / CONFIRM words;
- check that everyone can see the lobby state and hear or use the channels their role is meant to have; and
- keep voice troubleshooting separate from the role restrictions described in Blind, Deaf and Mute Roles.
This reduces the chance that a team launches a level while the real failure is still in the lobby.
If a friend cannot join
Check in this order:
- Is the host using the intended public or room-code path?
- Is the code current and copied exactly?
- Does the host still show the room as joinable?
- Are all players on the current released game build?
- Can the player enter a different lobby or recreate the room once?
Record the exact screen and message if the same failure repeats. Avoid promising port changes, file edits or other speculative fixes without an official instruction.
